Welcome New Visitors and FAQ

Welcome New Visitors!

Each time you visit we ask that you check in the gallery before proceeding to the garden.

In the gallery, there is always an exhibition on view. If we are installing a new exhibition, you will see a preview!

The garden - an extension of the exhibition space in the gallery - is a place for us to exhibit outdoor sculpture. Please remain on the gravel paths as you walk through the garden. The other two buildings are both private, one being a residence. Please treat the garden as you would wish others to treat your home.

Our mission is to present exhibitions of the contemporary artists whose work we represent, as well as publish scholarly catalogues on their work and place their work in private, public, and museum collections. We work directly with clients, art consultants, designers, and museum curators. We also exhibit Early Texas Artists (dating back to 1850) and show 19th and 20th century American and European art.

If you are looking for art, you are always welcome to visit to see our exhibitions. Appointments are not necessary, but, if you would like to see a particular artwork that you have seen online, it is helpful to make an appointment.

Founded in 1954, the Gallery and Garden have extensive histories. Read the Gallery History and the Garden History compiled on the occasion of our 70th Anniversary.

The gallery maintains memberships in Art Dealers Association of America ADAA and Contemporary Art Dealers of Dallas CADD.

Check out the Valley House Sculpture Garden Instagram page to see more photographs of the garden.
